Broadway Bound: Intermediate/Advanced Musical Theatre

10 weeks Monday 6:30-8:30 

Hone your musical theatre abilities as you discover your strengths and expand your showmanship skills. This musical theatre scene-study course focuses on making strong choices toward discovering objectives, taking risks, and living in the moment through song. Outside partner work may be required. This class will culminate in a performance of works in progress for family and friends at the end of the session. 

 

Scene Study: Advanced Acting by Audition Only

Advanced students will further their study of acting technique and character development through scene work while continuing to develop and hone the actors tools. Explore strong character choices, taking risks in a scene, and creating dynamic relationships between characters. Multi methods such as Uta Hagen, Meisner, and Stanislavski will be explored. Outside work is required for this class. This class culminates in a performance of works in progress for family and friends on the final day of the session.

Have you ever been curious about acting? Begin your exploration of the actor's journey by learning techniques that every actor must know. In this class you’ll learn the fundamentals of the craft and apply them toward creating a character in a monologue in a fun, supportive and stress free environment! This class culminates in a final sharing of works in progress for family and friends.

Whether you're an experienced playwright or a novice with a story to tell, our virtual workshop offers a supportive environment to develop your craft and hone your skills! This 5 weeks will focus on developing a 10 minute play. 

Iraisa Ann's BIO

Iraisa Ann Reilly is a writer, actor and educator who is half-Cuban, half-Irish and whole New Jersey.  She writes bilingual plays that reflect the communities and spiritual realities that she calls home. Select full-length plays include Good Cuban Girls (Teatro del Sol, at The Arden Theatre), The Jersey Devil is a Papi Chulo (Winner, Latinx New Play Festival at La Jolla Playhouse 2023, Sol Fest 2022, Yale Drama Series Shortlist 2022, Finalist Leah Ryan Prize, KCACTF) Saturday Mourning Cartoons (Winner Bay Area Playwright’s Festival 2022, Arkansas New Play Festival 2023, Cruazando Fronteras Festival 2024, Finalist Goldberg Playwriting Prize 2022, Semifinalist Blue Ink Award 2023, Semifinalist Premiere Stages) and Miss America Pretty (Latinx Playwright’s Circle Mentorship with Migdalia Cruz, Semifinalist Blue Ink Playwriting Award 2024). She is currently under commission with the Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia and ArtHouse Productions in Jersey City, NJ. Her plays have been developed by Theatre Exile, The New Harmony Project, The Chain Theatre, The Workshop Theatre, ARTHouse INKubator, Latinx Playwright’s Circle, and Two River Theatre. Thanks to a Lucille Lortel Micro-grant she is currently writing a one-woman show entitled January 6th: A Celebration. Stanley's BIO

Stanley Fisher, Founder of Stanley Fisher Creative, is an award-winning voice actor, sound designer, and creative director with nearly two decades of experience in voice acting, sound design, casting, producing, writing, and voice-over. He is also skilled in leadership development, conflict resolution, and self-mastery coaching.

Stanley has lent his voice to major brands such as SeaWorld, Dunkin', House of Blues, Mazda, and Walmart. He has produced over 5,000 commercials in his career, working across all levels of advertising. Recently, he completed an animation project where he voiced two characters and handled post-production sound design. Last year, Stanley was part of the creative team at Creative Self-Mastery that opened hubs in London, Paris, Berlin, Asheville, NC, and Tampa. As a global entrepreneur, his work has now spread to several countries outside the United States.

His expertise is built on years of stage performance and leading creative teams. Stanley has directed, written, and acted on-camera and in animations for various renowned organizations, including The New York Acting Ensemble, The Courtyard Playhouse, Creative Self-Mastery, Everyday Conscious Leadership, The Second City - Los Angeles, The Groundlings - Los Angeles, BIG Improv - Baltimore, iHeartMedia, and Entercom Media.
