What makes a musical performance stand out? In this studio-style class, you will focus on exploring character development and storytelling through song. By covering areas such as vocal technique, text analysis, and character study, you will develop the skills to turn a musical theatre piece into a captivating performance. The class will culminate in a showcase open to the public.

Duration: 10 weeks

Schedule: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm  - Begins September 29, 2026

Prior to the start of class, students must prepare:

• 32-bar cut (or 1-1.5 minutes) of a Musical Theatre song of your choosing, with sheet music in an appropriate key.
• Your cut should be memorized prior to the start of the class.

Please note: 

This class may be repeated multiple times.

Successful completion of 1A and 1B classes are required to progress to higher level classes in future semesters.
