Golden Movers (55+): Dance & Movement class

Through a mix of dance styles, rhythmic exercises, and creative movement, participants will enjoy boosting their energy, enhancing coordination, and connecting with others in a supportive and social environment. No previous dance experience required, just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to move!

Musical Theatre: Acting through Song

Through fun group work and exhilarating personal coaching, fine-tune your voice and learn how to act through a song in a fun and relaxed environment. This course is designed to introduce you to character development, diction, breathing, voice control and movement.

An Actor prepares: Fundamentals of Acting

Even if it's your first time acting or you're eager to delve deeper into acting techniques, this class will guide you through the fundamentals of the craft. You'll explore different techniques and apply them toward creating a character in a monologue, all in a fun, supportive, and stress-free environment! The class culminates in a final sharing of works-in-progress for family and friends.

Please note: If you’ve already taken this class, you’re welcome to enroll again, each semester offers new material and fresh opportunities for growth and discovery.

Comedy Tonight!: Intro to Improv

Through fun, low-pressure exercises, you’ll learn to think quickly on your feet, unlock your creativity, and step outside the box. Build confidence, spontaneity, and stage presence, all while discovering the joy of improvisation.

Broadway Baby: Youth Musical Theatre

Ages: 8 - 11

Musical theater is more than just singing and dancing; it's acting through a song. By using material from Broadway and movie musicals, your child will explore how to interpret a song and gain strong collaborative skills by working on group numbers. This class will culminate in a final sharing of their works in progress on the last day of the session.

Digital Storytellers: New Media Workshop

Ages: 12 - 17

In this class, students will dive into the world of digital storytelling! They’ll learn to create podcasts, YouTube videos, and other media while developing skills in scripting, recording, and editing. Students will also collaborate with the American Stage social media team. For their final project, they’ll cover one of our productions and create their own review, showcasing their creativity and media skills.

Triple Threat: Sing, Act & Dance workshop

Have you ever been curious about acting? Begin your exploration of the actor's journey by learning techniques that every actor must know. Showstoppers: Teen Musical Theatre

Ages: 12 - 17

Musical theater performance is more than just singing; it's acting through a song. In this ongoing, multi-level training program for teens, these young artists will be immersed in the material from a contemporary or classical Broadway musical. Teens will not only explore how to interpret a song and gain collaboration skills by working on group numbers but they will also learn about the creators and the history of the material that they will work on. This class will culminate in a performance of their works in progress based musical chosen to be explored on the last day of the session.
